Moontower Verses: One Year Anniversary!
Please join us for a very special gathering at Chez Zee as we celebrate one year of this amazing series. We’ve been honored to feature the incredible voices of Sarah Hepola, Rebecca Soffer, Meghan Daum, Arielle Isaac Norman, Bridget Phetasy & Abby Rapoport as our guests in open, candid conversation with Alana over this past year.
As we reflect on the past year, it affirms, for us, the vital importance of holding space which is separate and distinct from the divisive chatter around us — A space where we can honor artistry, spiritual seeking, and the possibility of transcendence that we find in such settings.
We want to invite you into this process a little bit more collaboratively for this next gathering, to share your own creative practices and engage in a prompt led by Alana (no prior experience and no pressure to share publicly)
We hope to be joined by a few of our local, previously featured guests for this interactive evening as well!
Writer and teacher, Alana’s work has appeared in Rattle, Quarterly West, Tablet, The Forward, The New York Times, Modern Loss, Crab Orchard Review, Dossier, and in the anthology Mothering Through the Darkness. Alana has taught undergraduate writing at Hunter College, where she earned her MFA in poetry, and has also led writing workshops within organizational and private settings. She is the co-founder of Moontower Minyan with her husband Rabbi Dan Ain. They and their two kids live in Austin, TX.
