About Old Time Religion (OTR):
Old Time Religion (OTR) celebrates the music and history of the Chosen People. Drawing upon Southern Gospel, Black Spiritual, Tin-Pan Alley and the Bluegrass traditions, OTR reflects the history of the Hebrew Nation from Abraham to Israel.

About OTR’s band leader: Phill Brush

Chill Phill ventured out of the hills and valleys and onto the stage with a low bass in his soul and a song in his heart. Born in the Big City of Houston, he quickly ventured to the countryside, where his spirit has resided ever since.

His story is his song, and his song is his home. Traveling around the world, he has collected tales from the mountains and tunes from the troubadours. Residing in Austin, Texas, where the music flows like yesterday’s wine, he enjoys swimming in Barton Springs, seeing Willie Nelson, and pallin’ around. Since his trip to Israel in 2023, following October 7th, he has been exploring more ways to connect his exploration of faith and a career in music. We mark the beginning of a long journey by doing just that.
